Welcome to the Similan Islands

The name for these islands come from a Yawi (Malayan dialect) word “Similan” which means nine. However, since its expansion in 1998, the national park now includes 11 islands in total.

Often ranked among the world’s top 10 dive destinations, the Mu Ko Similan National Park’s most famous dives sites in the Similans are Ko Bon & Ko Tachai. 

Its remote location and currents from the Indian Ocean create a haven for diverse and abundant marine life.

What to Expect When Diving at the Similan Islands

The Similan Islands offer diverse landscapes beneath their crystal-clear waters. Here, you can explore vibrant reefs teeming with marine life, colorful corals and white sandy bottoms. 

The east coast is perfect for beginner divers. Its sheltered conditions have negligible currents, moderate depths, gentle slopes, coral gardens and abundant fish.
