Discovered by Jacques Cousteau, this massive pinnacle in the middle of the Andaman Sea offers unmatched marine biodiversity. You can see anything from tiny seahorses and nudibranchs to majestic whale sharks, and everything in between. 

Due to strong currents and open-sea conditions, Richelieu Rock is best explored with an experienced guide from King Andaman. 

We offer 8 dives a week to this legendary site, with day trips from Khao Lak every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Some days, we dive the site twice, since there’s so much to see!

The sheer biodiversity at Richelieu Rock is unmatched in Thailand. Covered in vibrant purple soft corals, sea fans, and anemones, the pinnacle serves as a massive magnet for marine life.

  • The Giants: Richelieu Rock is famous for frequent Whale Shark sightings. The open-sea conditions and nutrient-rich currents attract these majestic creatures throughout the season.

  • The Macro World: For photographers, the site is a paradise. You can find Harlequin Shrimp, ornate Ghost Pipefish, several species of Seahorses, and a dazzling array of Nudibranchs.

  • The Action: Schools of Barracuda, Trevally, and Snappers are constantly patrolling the rock, while Cuttlefish are often seen mating or guarding their eggs among the corals.
